Dry Fly Hackle - Shop Local!

Post by teach » Fri Apr 21, 2017 9:18 pm

Gotta give a shout out to a new local business that should interest you if you tie flies and maybe even if you don't.

Root River Hackle, located just outside Lanesboro, was established about a year ago. As of this week, you can now purchase an awesome selection of capes and saddles as well as sampler 100 packs from their online store! I ordered a Grade 1 Cree(!) cape on Wednesday and it was in my mailbox today and it looks amazing! Patty, a great gal and one of the co-owners, let me in on one of the 100 packs about 6 months ago as I used to work with her - the feathers are terrific!

The story of the business is pretty cool - they bought it from someone in Canada and moved all the birds, etc, here to MN. Hackle growers are few and far between so this is a very unique chance to buy local and support the local fishing economy. Click the links below and spread the word!
