March 13 report

Post by dpnoll »

I went out today and fished a small stream from 12-1:30. The water was very slightly stained. I landed 2 Brookies and 8 Browns with the largest being 15 ½". The browns were all quite deep in pools that had fast water at the upper end. Very comfortable out. I was North of I 90. I forgot to take the temp.

Did you see any hatches, Baetis or Midges? The fish in the net looks healthy. How did the other fish look?

The fish were in really good shape. Nothing for bugs, however I never try to match the hatch so I rarely even see bugs. Some beavers put in a dam which should be dynamite later on if I can find room to cast. This public access area is really overgrown and an incredible number of trees have gone down in the last 1 ½ years. It could use some loving care but on the other hand it keeps most people out, which isn't all bad.
