I don't tie/fish this exact pattern but have my own version that is comparable/similar. The last few season I've found it works very well in 18/20 as a midge nymph right off the bat in the winter season. I jump up to 16 as the water warms up for the BWOs. Pretty much my trailer fly until Memorial Day. $
Simply put, people fish because it's fun

This fly was an absolute killer today in size 18. I fished a stream north of 90 and ended with over a dozen fish caught on this fly alone. More fish were taken on scuds, and prince nymph variations, but this nymph was on fire.
