2017 Holiday Fly Swap

Does your fly tying bench look like this? Is it all organized and neat? Well, it's time to make a mess!

The official MNTroutForums 2017 Holiday Fly Swap is now under way! Now is your chance to get those hot flies that helped JRS make the paper!

Here are my suggestions... Let's begin the debate on these particulars so that by the end, everyone is happy and no one has a clean fly tying desk.
*Max participants: 10 (?)
*Each participant ties two flies per person involved.
*Flies due by the Friday, January 5th? (too soon? Will people have more or less time over the holidays?)
Theme: open to debate?

Count me in.

I think I'm going to my version of the Skinny Nelson which is a Baetis nymph.

Probably want to have a sign up deadline or just let us know when the swap is closed to further entries.

I'm ok with the date, but also wouldn't mind an extension into later Jan.

I'm in. Would prefer a little more time. Any theme ok.

My tying desk has never been that clean. Actually right now my space looks like a tornado hit a small fly shop sporting goods store.

I shouldn't have a problem with Jan. 5 but also wouldn't complain about more time. Deadline to enter sounds good. If we aren't going with any theme, I'll tie a Purple Haze.
Simply put, people fish because it's fun

Evidently, I've developed a stutter.

Jay, I thought that was just multiple entries!

and TFO, a purple haze is awesome.

New due date for the flies: January 26th
-- three extra weeks.
Deadline for entering: December 25th (That way, people that only sporadically check the site will have a chance.)

I'll be tying a flashy mayfly nymph that I'm calling the Dreamcoat-- just a flashback pheasant tail variant.

I'll join in, it will force me back to my desk. I'll have to think on the pattern, probably a nymph... Kinda looks like anything goes right?

Count me in. I’ll make a caddis pupa nymph.
