Re: MNTU Trout Project Evaluation Does Not Exist

I knew you would take this and run. What I was getting at is if hundreds of thousands of dollars are going to be spent, fishing pressure is going to increase, the aesthetics of the stream ruined, etc., the fishing had out to be much better and the projects better last a good long time. The fishing i...

Re: MNTU Trout Project Evaluation Does Not Exist

I'm not sure i'd trade less fish for less erosion but maybe the powers that be will get their shiz together and figure something out that is actually worth while and doesn't completely change the entire fishing experience. (lower catch rate, smaller fish, increased fishing pressure, and an urban/non...

Re: MNTU Trout Project Evaluation Does Not Exist

I just know that there are going to continue to be habitat projects on streams that hold good numbers and size currently that will never be the same post project. And to top it off you yourself said there is really no scientific way of accurately measuring improvement post project for a number of re...

Re: MNTU Trout Project Evaluation Does Not Exist

It's hilarious that you would think a pro woody debris design money recipient would be for more rock and lumber based over head cover when their business is going to loose out on the money from securing the contract. And the same going for a reverse scenario.

Re: LSOHC Dec 10th Meeting Video - Stream Restoration

Where are we at as far as restoration practices go on the streams that were approved for restoration in the past and haven't been completed yet? I suppose a bunch of money was spent on designing projects that will have to be redesigned now for updated/new restoration techniques?

Re: LSOHC Dec 10th Meeting Video - Stream Restoration

Thanks Tom, I enjoyed the video!!! He has echoed in his video what I have said many times on here. A redneck on a bulldozer could do a much better job at restoring a creek if you get the engineering out of the way. I give this man a great amount of credit for doing all of this out of his own pocket ...

Re: Season’s End Report

It was a very weird year for me. The hatches were all messed up and a few streams I enjoy were pounded by the spring floods. Probably the smallest average size trout I've ever had in a season across all streams I fished. I hope this isn't a new trend with climate change, but have a bad feeling this...
