Re: Lanesboro Dam Work

I bet there are many feet of sediment built up behind the Lanesboro Dam. Dams in that part of the state make me nervous.

Re: Star Tribune report on stream rehab

From: IBeoutdoors Add to that the Natural Channel Design failure on the Stewart River up north of Duluth. DNR’s “eco-waters’’ division is cozy with private consultant Dave Rosgen founder of Natural Channel Design. They push his methods and have even helped teach his company's courses here in Minnes...

Re: Invertebrates On the Decline World Wide

More evidence that ecosystems at all scales are collapsing. Lowly as they are, the critters at the bottom of the food web are like the foundation of a house. When that foundation fails, everything above it does, too.

Re: Potential SE MN Trout Regulation Changes

I like eating trout. I'm not too excited about eating ANY fish from agricultural areas, though.

Re: Potential SE MN Trout Regulation Changes

The idea that you can have effective catch and release regulations while allowing bait fishing is laughable. Who are these idiots? Live bait belongs on stock and catch streams or streams with lots of small, stunted trout where harvest would actually improve the size structure of the trout population.

Re: Potential SE MN Trout Regulation Changes

1. Keep current regulations on special reg streams.
2. Catch and release only in state parks (except catch and keep for for rainbow trout).
3. Statewide no kill for trout 12 inches and over.

Re: Proposed SE MN ATV trail?

If I were a landowner down in that part of the state, there is NO WAY I'd allow an ATV trail to cross my property. You end up with more trouble than you would ever want-- like erosion, garbage, off trail trespass, etc, etc.
