Re: Buying a license this year

I buy all my licenses online, print a half dozen of them to keep in various locales. Download the pdf of my license to my phone, and always spend a buck or two to get the actual stamp mailed tome. I have them all since 1987. A fishing license is easily the best bang for the buck I get out of just ab...

Re: "Opener"

I was on the water by 7:00, first car there, and was off the water headed home with the legal limit by 9:00. Counted 13 cars along the access points on my way home. I kind of figured there would be a potential hatch with the weather (a buddy ran into a great caddis hatch at noon south of 90). I just...

Re: New Rod Question

It's not real hard to snip your tippet off a tippet ring, change it out, and change tactics: dry to nymph, to streamer, and back again.

Re: Rush Creek, MN

Speaking of erosion blankets, I found one on Rush Saturday, partially in the water and partially on the bank. Didn't seem to do much good when it was submerged in the creek :).

Re: Rush Creek, MN

I'm serious about the dollar amount question. There are two projects, but the work was done three times. Once on Ahrensfeld area and the two times below that (one original and one that was "repaired" in the spring of 2019). The dollar amount has to be significant. I even went the the MNTU page and d...

Rush Creek, MN

I realize I am digging up some dead and buried news regarding the Rush Creek projects(s); however, I spent some time Saturday morning walking last years failed/redone project, as well as the project completed near Ahrensfeld Creek. All I can say is what a waste of time and money. It's a shame that t...

Re: Photo's/Pictures

For those willing to bring a cellphone with them on the water, land your fish, snap a few of it swimming around or in your net (a net?). Or take a quick selfie. If the fish is out of the water for a short bit, you're OK. I've seen how trout are handled during electro-fishing, so an angler getting a ...

Good baetis yesterday from 1:30 until I left. Fished a dry with an emerger trailer. Both took each pattern readily.

Re: Dark Hendrickson's

A buddy saw some caddis late Friday afternoon south of 90. DH are close, especially if we can get some consistent warmer weather.
