I ran into a go hatch south of 90 (not Iowa) in mid July. Haven't been on the water that early lately to go after them. I do run into decent trico hatches in September, especially mid to late morning on a few specific streams - typically once we start getting cool, early fall evenings.

Good first post. a little windy, but its better than the rubish that gets posted by some of the regulars. I will politely disagree on one key point: wading socks and good wading boots are essential to wet wading in the summer. I happen to fish and walk for distance (re: not a quarter miler), so thos...

My initial response after seeing it first hand two days ago (upper Garvin) was one word: junk. Sure, I can reserve judgment for a few years later, but when woody debris/Rosgen is used, I'm not a fan, and I will never be a fan of a Colorado based stream restoration method being used in southeast Minn...

Re: Anyone Been Fishing This Week

No cleated wading boots allowed on Ferris wheel. Don't ask how I know that.
That's the funniest think I've read on this forum in a while.

Justin - glad you bonked some fish to take home. That rhetoric on another thread is getting nauseating.

I'll give a selfish answer on this one. I personally enjoy the fact that there are a wide range of differing regulations in southeast MN. As a fly angler, I enjoy the fact that there are some streams more heavily populated than others. Yes, I do keep trout now and again, but that's not why I fish. I...

8. Some decent caddis hatches at times, streamer fishing was decent at times, watched a few fish well over 20 in broad daylight yesterday chill at the bottom of a pool, so I know where a few bruisers are down the road. Looking forward to some tricos and terrestrials shortly. The weird weather, combi...

There was some fascinating video on Instagram this spring of an angler filming a brook lamprey mating frenzy in a stream south of 90.

I wear an old pair of heavy six pocket bow hunting pants with shorts underneath. I have zero issues with nettles.
