What wt rod is that? I only ask because with are some big of a fish, it's kind of shocking not to see a fighting butt. I'm guessing 6wt Hydros?

Thanks Hemingway. I've got a friend coming down to fish this weekend, and we might try to hit it up. Hopefully a few more days will let it settle down a bit.

Hope the trout fishing was good yesterday!

Mister Bubble - Have you driven by that section of the Zumbro lately? I'm curious as to what it looks like.

I'm feel your pain Hemingway. It seems any time that I have an extended period of time that will allow me to really put some time in for smallmouth fishing, the rain seems to wreck it. I live 2 blocks from the Mississippi river, and haven't fished it but two or three times since April due to ridicul...

I must have dropped my reel pouch out of my car today while down at the MBWW. It's blue with some gray trim on it. $10 Reward

After a long drive through the area today, I'd say you'd probably be better off sticking to the lakes. There are some fishable streams well south of 90, but for the most part, almost all of the water I saw was chocolate milk. Water levels on the Root, and Zumbro both seemed to be up a little bit, bu...

I took my first drive up hwy 35 through that area yesterday on my way to Blaine. It was a beautiful drive and would be a shame to see something like this come in and wreck some of that natural beauty. I sure hope they don't get approved.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm just hopeful I can make it work as a last minute trip. Not really the ideal way to do it, and I understand that, but with being self-employed and busier than we've ever been it's hard to make any sort of plans. If this trip doesn't pan out, I'll be chasing musky and sma...
