This fly was an absolute killer today in size 18. I fished a stream north of 90 and ended with over a dozen fish caught on this fly alone. More fish were taken on scuds, and prince nymph variations, but this nymph was on fire.

If the Packers would have known Webb would start, it likely would have been 63-10. Gamesmanship I say! :) It's hard to be upset about the year we had. Ponder took steps forward, some back, but then went forward again I believe. He's definitely a project, and one I'm not sure will pan out yet. Howeve...

I'm sure they knew that Ponder wasn't going to start well before Thursday. While they probably held out some hope, the last minute decision was just a bit of gamesmanship in my opinion. Green Bay didn't prepare for Webb (not like they really needed to), in theory giving the Vikings something of an a...

I'm the same as jrs. I caught the trifecta a few times last year on the same stream, but I've never caught a tiger. I've spent my fair share of time in search of one though. In fact, I'll probably be looking for one tomorrow as well.

Yeah, not having Ponder could end up biting us. Webb hasn't thrown a single pass all year long. As of 6 minutes into the game, he had thrown 1 pass. All I can hope is that the threat of both Webb and AP running will open up some holes down the field for the passing game. Fingers crossed!

Re:

One encounter that surprised me was a dirty, chocolate milk section of stream at the beginning of a winter section. I'm guessing cows must have been out further upstream or some work was being done on a farmer's land. Regardless of the cause it surprised me quite a bit. Water clarity was fine at ac...

I'd also like to see a traditional snowy winter (without the frigid cold)
More time to travel this spring and summer.

I saw a few Eagles down by Choice having a field day on the spawners as well. Pretty neat to watch them do their thing. How many fish a day do you think they take?

I have been out a few times. However, the rain doesn't seem to have had any effect at all on the streams I've seen. Also, the hatches I have seen have been very sparse and not inducing much action on top. The fishing has been good, although the pressure has been very high. My last trip I finally res...
