If you got upwards of 8500 feet in elevation, then you may have been there. I know Yellowstone in general, the Bighorn, and the Missouri are the "it" places to fish in Montana. Agreed. Not knocking the Driftless, but getting out amd fishing the West has a way of getting in your blood. The way the Vikes are performing, I may be out the door sooner than later to get a last trip in.

Tricos and baetis last weekend. Fished a variety of nymphs all day. Hoppers were decent in some areas. Ephorons are going here and there. I fished hard in Montana a few weeks, so I really could take it or leave it at this point.

He truly had a significant impact on southeast Minnesota fisheries. Great guy. I'm not sure many anglers in the Driftless understand the significance of what Mel did for the area.
