Re: Stream Clarity?

I walked a good portion of the section above the snowmobile bridge. Flood control most certainly. There is still some good pool depth and it should help out a lot with erosion. I liked the water better before they touched it but I have said that about every single habitat project I have ever fished....

Re: Stream Clarity?

I was checking up on a local (to me) stream project that is underway last night and found the water to be in perfect condition.

Re: What is it about this year?

I have really only fished one 2-3 mile stretch this year several times now. The reason I keep going back is I haven't bumped into anyone else fishing it and it has been producing an insane average size. Numbers, although low (marginal water) have been up considerably than they have been in the last ...

Re: HATCHES

My bug ID isn't great. I fished with a buddy on a trout river N. of 90 the other day. I saw a large mayfly that was a cream color, a small dark colored mayfly, and a medium sized brown mayfly. It was prob. in that 1 pm time frame when they started coming off of the water.

It was the perfect timing to go after the big boys. Glad I had the time to get out.

Re: 5/11 and 5/12 Fishing Report

I fished a large system yesterday. The water was dirty when I got there at a little after Noon. It hadn't changed much by the time I left at 4:30. I only caught one fish but it was worth getting wet for.

Re: 5/11 and 5/12 Fishing Report

I would argue that based upon what I have seen the last week to ten days, there are a few streams that could use some flushing as their slime/algae growth is significant due to lack of water (and high concentrations of nitrates). We need some substantial rain, IMO. No dries yesterday, but sight fis...

Re: Stream Conditions and Hatches

I think this is what spoiled our fishing yesterday. We were out on a large system N. of 90 on Sunday. To say the fishing was tough would be a gross understatement. There was a decent caddis hatch going on I wouldn't have expected it from this water. Only say 2 fish rise but they were pretty tight li...
