I guess i'm not against giving rifles a try.

I would agree a little more needs to done providing additional safety information so new rifle hunters understand the range of most center fire rifle is going to be 33 to 50 % greater than shotgun and muzzle loaders using sabot slugs.
I agree.

Re: Nitrates in MN Wells

Maintaining "living roots" in the soil should be a priority, and if farmers (or any other business) gets a taxpayer-funded subsidy, the public should get something in return.

Re: Nitrates in MN Wells

I'm all for taking measures for reduction in nitrates but they also need to be realistic. Eliminating the ethanol mandate would go a long way. I don't have any concrete facts but, I would assume that the "crop farmers" are the ones the most to blame for it. The amount of non organic fertilizer thes...

Re: Dam removal

Dams are loved by some locals---until they blow out. No dam is permanent-especially in places like SE Minnesota where flooding and siltation are constantly occurring.

Just cutting it without poisoning the stumps just makes the problem WAY worse. Eradicating buckthorn shou...

Re: Lead

I haven't taken the lead out of my tackle yet, but I almost never use split shot anyway. I moved over to copper bullets for deer hunting years ago. Work great.

Re: MNTU Trout Project Evaluation Does Not Exist

I'm not sure i'd trade less fish for less erosion but maybe the powers that be will get their shiz together and figure something out that is actually worth while and doesn't completely change the entire fishing experience. (lower catch rate, smaller fish, increased fishing pressure, and an urban/no...

Re: Polymet Mine Petition

As bad as Polymet is, the Twin Metals project is even worse. Both would forever change one of the nicest areas of the country. Beyond the permanent footprints on the landscape and likelihood of eventual acid runoff, there will be serious noise and light pollution, heavy traffic, air pollution, etc. ...
