Can't speak for the Michelin rubber, but I've used Simms, Patagonia, and Korkers rubber soles and they wear well, but I would add studs. For most situations, they are OK without, but when you get into an area with slimy rocks, the studs give you a little more grip. Also find them helpful in climbing...

Re: Stream Conditions

Fished south of 90 yesterday with JRS. A little breezy, but that helped keep the blasted gnats at bay. Nearly perfect water conditions, with just enough color to make ya a little smarter. Very aggressive feeders up in shallow lies. Solid dry dropper fishing. Flat water stretch in afternoon had lots ...

Re: Stream Conditions

Fished yesterday So. of 90. A medium sized water was off, but fished very well. A smaller one was gin clear. longer leaders and small flies was not the best plan with the howling wind. The popular stream was off, but fishable. Moderate success there, but probably mostly due to being old, and getting...

Re: Stream reports?

Fished yesterday, both above and below 90. Mixed bag of stream conditions saw some, especially above 90 that were bank full and brown, and others that were nearly clear. So. of 90 found larger water nearly perfect conditions, with a few baetis and a single much larger mayfly at a distance that I wou...

Re: Perfect Weather for Weekend Angling

Sounds like typical winter fishing ! Any fish of size? BTW did the fish appear to be in good condition or a little on the skinny side? What's interesting is at the moment we should have another excellent year class of trout PROVIDED we don't receive any high water events between now and March 1st. ...

Re: Weighted Collar Question?

Yep. I especially like the adhesive strip lead that the euro's are so fond of. I cut it into elongated skinny triangles with a rotary cutter and straight edge. Start at the bend and wind up, then part way back down. Instant taper, and significant weight.
