You might want to avoid the Perfection Loop for your fly line end and go with a Nail Knot from the leader, or the "Chinese Handcuff" slip-on loop eye (with SuperGlue to double-secure.

I have camped in Buffalo, Wyoming numerous times and fished the North Tongue system as well as the Ten Sleep near the town of the same name. For your girl fiend's "easy casting" the North Tongue where Prune Creek dumps in is pretty open, but much of the Tongue is wooded and not always easy casting. ...

Simple guideline for a trout's time out of the water. Hold your breath while taking your photo of your catch, and when you can't hold your breath any longer, it's time to slide the trout back into the water.

I find a Subaru Outback great for transporting rods of 9' or less, not broken down. The reel seat ends sit nicely on the privacy pull-over cover, and the rod tips are supported below the rear view mirrors. No need to breakdown rods.

Other than the obvious (good health end less politics) I am hoping for a few fly-tying books that may help me improve my techniques and/or speed. A nice bottle of Irish Mist to go with the fly tying, and best wishes to all!

May I suggest you check out smallmouth fishing opportunities in the area? Has to be some (warm) waters nearby with feisty fish.
