A couple more resources ... DNR hatch chart: https://files.dnr.state.mn.us/areas/fisheries/lanesboro/se_mn_hatches_080405.pdf This isn't perfect, but will give you a short list of suspects to start with. troutnut.com This has lots of detail and pictures, but it works best if you have some inkling of...

Re: Fishing Report- June 11

Absorbine Jr. Bring it with you and reapply every 30 minutes or so as needed. I put it right on my face, neck, hand backs. If they are really bad, a head net.

I can get behind this logic. If you're going to do HI, do it right, make it last, and stop the current trend of more miles means successful HI.
To that sums up my feelings exactly! There has been too much focus on miles and cost per mile as measures of success.

Re: Stream Conditions

Fished with jay92 yesterday. We looked at a lot of streams south and north of I-90. All of the medium to large streams we saw were pretty dirty. We ended up fishing s small stream south of I-90 that was just lightly stained. Fishing was good there. There were mixed bugs coming off sparsely including...

Re: Stream Conditions

Anyone had a peek since Monday? I'm headed down to Lanesboro area this afternoon and will take a look at a few spots. Haven't been out since Saturday. Many streams we're still pretty dirty then and I'm sure Mondays rain made things worse. But I'm anxious to find out if things are settling down, so ...

Re: Any hatch updates?

John, I haven't been out enough to hit the Dark Hendrickson hatch, since you fish a lot do you think its over, its now getting pretty late for DH's to hang around? Don't really know. In the last few weeks, I've fished a couple streams that I'm pretty sure still have a hatch. I've only seen a few st...

Re: Any hatch updates?

Thanks for the details, brntrout. I fished again today south of I-90, but it was fairly slow. Compared to last Wednesday, it was kind of like someone pushed the "pause" or even "rewind" button on the spring warmup. No caddis or other bugs around, no fish rising, and stream temps back in the upper 40...

Re: Any hatch updates?

I saw a super light hatch of gray caddis on a popular stream south of I-90 on Wednesday afternoon when stream temps reached 54 degrees. Caught fish on gray caddis pupa. The coming crappy weather should shut down any potential caddis hatch until streams temperatures reach the 54 to 56 degree range a...

Re: Any hatch updates?

I was out today south of I-90. There were baetis hatching sporadically through the morning. There were also caddis hatching a little more consistently in late morning. Not enough of either to get fish rising, but nymph fishing was good. Peeking Caddis, green / black caddis pupa, baetis, and perdigon...
