Rush Creek HI work

Has anyone heard news from the recent TU project between the bridges on 25? I haven’t seen it yet but I got a report that the entire lower section was just demolished leaving sheer banks and a very wide stream. I was also informed that they finished it in October and that the grass likely didn’t hav...

I'm fishing the next four days straight and despite the hand I've been dealt I will enjoy it none the less. I scouted water in Winona County and most of it has moderate stain on it. Some systems will be blown if they get much more rain going into tomorrow. With that said I know of other streams that...

Re: Rate Your 2018 Trout Fishing Season

I changed my mind. I didn’t take into consideration that this was the first year I’ve had a kid I could take with me and despite perhaps those days being less about fishing and more about exposing my daughter to the outdoors and the streams my year gets a full point bump for that. I’m gonna bump my ...

Re:

I'll give a selfish answer on this one. I personally enjoy the fact that there are a wide range of differing regulations in southeast MN. Give it another 10 years and you may be singing a different tune with the rate at which the DNR and TU are steamrolling the streams these days. Can't let any of ...

Almost seems like creating an artificial environment that promotes a population that grows to a point of starving itself might be considered unethical. Let's not get carried away here. An artificial environment is the raceways hatchery fished are raised in not a piece of water with HI. Nature ebbs ...

I'm gonna go with 7.5/10. I've fished a lot this season and explored new water. I've knocked on doors and called landowners to gain access to several spots I have always wanted to fish but never quite went far enough as to speak with landowners. Caught a few amazing brook trout on one of the spots a...

Short Film: Goldilocks

Mid-week last week saw high and blown streams in some parts. A bit of persistence and I found a stream with the perfect amount of stain on it. Fished all day in the rain, it was an excellent day.

Not all of us fish trout run Tom. I don't think your statement applies to all streams, seems kind of silly to make that generalization.
